For a service company in the United Arab Emirates, we built a controlled WhatsApp pilot: incoming messages are checked, processed in n8n and prepared for automated replies.

Challenge

Enquiries about services and working together reach the company through WhatsApp. A digital support flow must accept messages reliably and handle recurring questions while giving the team control over pilot access and the option to take over conversations.

Solution

SYDA built a separate gateway and n8n architecture. The gateway verifies incoming WhatsApp events and forwards only approved test contacts during the pilot. n8n handles the conversation workflow; an isolated YCloud route supports targeted tests of automated replies and the planned human handoff. The separation keeps invalid and irrelevant events out of the workflow.

Impact

  • A controlled test path for WhatsApp enquiries is in place
  • One documented pilot test reports an incoming message and a delivered automated reply
  • Continuous operation and AI suppression during human takeover have not yet been fully verified
Workflow

From incoming message to controlled reply.

The pilot checks each handoff between WhatsApp, the gateway and n8n. Human takeover remains a further verification step.

  1. 01

    Incoming event

WhatsApp events reach a separate gateway before they are forwarded to the internal automation.

  2. 02

    Verification

Signature, event type and pilot contact are checked. Messages from unapproved contacts do not start an n8n execution.

  3. 03

    Processing

n8n routes the approved message through the pilot workflow and prepares an automated reply.

  4. 04

    Pilot test

A real incoming test message and delivered reply are documented. Additional senders and reliable human takeover still require complete verification.
